EXCELLENCE, QUALITY, & SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

THE BERGEN TRADITION

Bergen Upholstery was founded by Joseph Pokotilow, who learned the upholstery trade from his father, Benjamin. Family lore describes Benjamin, who was born in Russia, as the harness maker and carriage upholsterer to Tsar Nicholas II, before he immigrated to the US. Joseph’s entrepreneurial spirit and smart executive decisions allowed the company to grow from modest beginnings in a storefront to a staff of 20 and a 13,000 square foot facility.

About Nancy Citti, President

Nancy Pokotilow Citti, Joseph’s daughter, joined Bergen in 1984 as a sales associate. She received her BA from Lafayette College and an MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickenson University.

Working alongside her father allowed Nancy to gain insight and experience that facilitated a seamless transition. In 1995, upon Joseph’s retirement, she assumed her father’s role as President of the company. Today, she continues to lead Bergen Upholstery to provide excellence, quality, and superior customer service—characteristics that have been Bergen’s trademark since 1946.

Nancy served on the Board of Directors of UBOA (the precursor to UMA), and is an active member of UMA, ABA, IMG, and many of the motorcoach industry regional associations.
